Matchday 24 of the Nigeria Premier Fotball League 25/26 season saw us stumble to a lone goal defeat against Barau FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.

We cruised to a 2-0 victory in the first leg back home at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan and we hoped to get a point at least on the road.

LINE-UP: Michael Atata; Junior Christian, Aliu Salawudeen, Gift Udoh, Elijah Ujunwa; Folarin Temitope, Tosin Oyedokun, Rasheed Owolabi, Joseph Arumala, Tomiwa Awojobi & Ayoola Ibrahim.

The opening 10 minutes were balanced with no chances as the sides settled in but almost double of that, the chances started and Atata was the first to be called to action, making a sharp save to a fierce low drive.

Tosin Oyedokun then worked the home side’s goalkeeper with a long range drive only for Barau to respond with a goal on the 28th minute mark.

Before the break, Tosin once again worked the keeper before Folarin did the same from a set piece.

We started the second half in the same vein, Joseph Arumala met a cross from Ujunwa at the back post but his header crashed into the side net. We kept piling the pressure but were unable to break the home side as it ended in a defeat.
