We fell to our heaviest defeat of the season, conceding four to Bendel Insurance away in Benin on matchday 28 of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

LINE-UP: Michael Atata; Junior Christian, Aliu Salawudeen, Olanrewaju Molade, Elijah Ujunwa; Aderemi Adeoye, Tosin Oyedokun, Rasheed Owolabi, Joseph Arumala, James Jonah and Chidera Oparaocha.

Settling on the turf seemed to be the major issue at the start and the lads struggled with the movement of the ball on the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium turf. After a goalless 14 minutes, the host opened the scoring on the quarter mark.

Folarin was brought in to steady the middle but the home side doubled their advantage about ten minutes later. Two goals turned three in quick succession as we found it had to keep the ball going into the break.

The second half brought more changes and our intensity went up a notch. Joseph Arumala struck the cross bar and Folarin had an effort saved but it was the home side who scored yet another game despite our improved performance as they took all three points. It’s the second game this season we’ve conceded four goals with the first coming against Niger Tornadoes.
